Frequently asked questions.

When is your cherry season?

Our orchard lies in New Zealand’s Central Otago region, and fresh cherries are available from early/mid-December through late January (weather permitting / harvest conditions).

How do I order if I live Rurally?

using this link

https://nzcextras.co.nz/nearestlocation/

If you live rural you are able to send to your nearest NZ Couriers depot and collection point where you can pick up from there.

Why can’t you deliver to PO Boxes or rural delivery addresses?

We use New Zealand courier services specialising in perishables, and they pick up the fruit from the orchard on the dispatch day. Because of this schedule and the need to preserve freshness, we cannot guarantee reliable overnight delivery to PO Boxes or some rural delivery addresses.

When does dispatch begin for orders placed after Christmas?

The season winds down over the holiday break — fruit-picking and dispatch will resume from 5 January onward for orders placed after Christmas.

How should I look after the cherries once they arrive?

As soon as your cherries arrive:
Remove them from any outer packaging;

Keep them refrigerated immediately to slow ripening and maintain freshness;

If there is a tray or pad in the box, leave the fruit to sit on it — it helps absorb excess moisture.

Fresh cherries are best eaten within a few days. For maximum flavour and firmness, keep them cool until you're ready to serve.

How long will cherries keep in the fridge?

When kept chilled (ideally at or below 4 °C), cherries can remain firm and delicious for up to about 7-10 days. However, for optimal flavour and texture, we recommend eating them sooner.

What if the cherries arrive damaged or not up to standard?

We aim for top-quality with every box. If you receive fruit that is damaged, over-ripe, or not meeting expectations, please contact us immediately with your order number, photos of the issue and condition of the box. We’ll work with you to resolve the matter

I’m sending cherries as a gift. Can I include a message or select a special box?

Absolutely. We offer a box for personal messages that can be added at checkout.
